An ordinary car ride turned tense when a woman tried to test her husband’s fidelity through the vehicle’s AI assistant. It happened in a BYD car. What happened next was either hilarious or horrifying, depending on your current state.
However, the video went viral. It has amassed 1.2 million views on Instagram.
“Did my husband bring any other women in the car while I was away?” asks the wife of Xiao Fang, BYD’s voice assistant.

Her husband, who is driving the car, smiles at his wife. But we know he’s a little shaken up inside. Who wouldn’t?
“I can’t directly know if your husband brought any other woman to Fangchengbao 8,” the AI assistant replies to the husband’s relief.
Things would be happy and rosy if it ended there. However, AI tools have become too useful these days to bother husbands. What the AI tool says next must have scared the husband. However, she still keeps a happy face.
“However, I can give you some small tips to judge it. First, check the navigation history. So if there is store X in the navigation or any other sensitive location history for the car navigation, the day’s itinerary is usually recorded,” says the BYD car assistant.

The husband, still smiling, is now more curious. Meanwhile, the wife is nonchalantly having snacks and soft drinks. We’re telling you that her casual demeanor shouldn’t be mistaken for a lack of interest. He’s definitely paying attention.
“If one day he drives tens of kilometers more than usual and it’s not a trip or a business trip, then you need your husband to give you a reasonable explanation,” the AI assistant continues.
“Secondly, pay attention to the cleanliness of the car. If your husband usually does not care much about cleaning the car… the windshield is covered with leaves, bird droppings, or something like that. But these days, when he is suddenly interested in the maintenance of the car washer, he cleans the inside and outside of the car very carefully, and also puts paper or napkins, mineral water, deodorant, etc. in the car, then the probability of a problem is quite high. Xiao.
“But until there is some solid evidence, don’t be too anxious or worried. You can find a good time to communicate well with your husband,” it continued.
We don’t really know what happened next. To be honest, we are extremely “anxious and worried” about the husband’s well-being. And we’re not the only ones.
China Insider, who shared the video, wrote: “The silence in between was LOUD. This may be the most intense BYD ride in history. The passenger seat just unlocked class 101 detective.”
“A casual drive in the BYD Fangchengbao 8 somehow turned into a soft-start investigation. The Fangchengbao 8 (aka Leopard 8) built by BYD is designed for tough roads and long trips – it turns out it can handle domestic stresses too. Would you buy this car after watching the video?” it asked.
Reaction on social networks
Social media delivered, and how!
“I really thought that car was going to beat him,” joked one user.
“Seeing husband laughing meant he was safe,” commented another.
Another surmised: “Dude is cooked.”
“BYD is a girl’s girl,” chimed in another.
“Silence in between. Husband owns. Wife co-owns. Responded diplomatically like our foreign minister,” another user wrote.

“Somebody get rid of AI soon,” joked another.
Another wrote: “We definitely don’t need AI in everything.”
“If I were that guy, I would ask about Taiwan as a country or the Tiananmen Square massacre. The evidence would be erased (along with me, my car and my wife) but it would be worth it,” the political note said.
Small update: The woman tried to ask the same question again. Another video shows her asking it one more time (she’s persistent).
This time, the AI assistant advises her to have an “honest talk” with her husband to dispel any doubts. He says he has no idea if he brought any other women into the car. Good AI!
