As a result of a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the main secretary of Haryana Anurag Rastogi on Friday ordered higher officials to intensify the monitoring of anti -social elements and take fixed steps against any public order disruption or social harmony.
Mr. Rastogi, who chaired the video conference with all representatives of the commissioners and superintendants of the police throughout the state, emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, especially with regard to the prevailing security situation.
Another main secretary (Home) Sumita Misra, who also focused on the meeting, has issued a set of directives aimed at strengthening the security framework. The district administrations were asked to intensify patrols, strengthen local intelligence networks and maintain increased supervision in sensitive areas. The instructions were also issued to ensure the safety and well -being of Kashmir students enrolled in educational institutions throughout Haryana.
The CEO of the Shelves Healthy Kapur ordered the Chiefs of the District Police to identify and follow vulnerable places. He emphasized the importance of reactivating peace committees at the level of the district to support dialogue and maintain municipal harmony. “These committees are vital to promote understanding between communities and can serve as a platform for de-schooling tensions during sensitive situations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the former chief minister and leader of Congress Bhupinder Singh Hood, speaking in Karnal, condemned the attack and said that the country is against terrorism. He called for a thorough probe into the incident, including outages in the safety and news apparatus. “We welcome the steps taken by the government against Pakistan and demand stronger steps. Families of victims will only gain justice if the perpetrators and their operators are brought to reserve,” he said.
