The alleged suicide of the IPS Y Puran Kumar officer sent shock waves across Haryana and Chandigar, and Haryan has now suspended a higher police officer who was appointed what is perceived as Kumar’s suicide remark.
In the middle of this, Main Minister Haryana Nayab Singh Saini broke his silence on this matter. Saini was heard at the BJP event in the state of Panchkula and said, “… this is an unfortunate incident. The family demanded justice. We assured them that it would be thoroughly investigated. Against the accused should not be politics on these questions …”

Amneet P Kumar, the wife of the deceased police officer and herself, the head of the IAS officer, was with the main minister as part of the delegation he led in Japan when the news of her husband’s death broke.
Although this is the first public commentary on Saini about Kumar’s death, he visited official residence on Thursday’s recently widowed IAS officer in Chandigarh’s sector 24 and offered condolences to the surviving family.

Saini’s comments also come as a result of opposition leaders who killed the BJP government in Haryana and in the center of the alleged suicide of Kumar they perceived, was caused by “discrimination based on castles”.
Y Puran Kumar, 52 years, in 2001-the Indian Police Services (IPS), was found with a gunshot in the room in the basement of its sector 11 on Tuesday.
In the note he allegedly left, Kumar appointed many “higher officers” and described in detail the “mental harassment” and “humiliation” he has faced in the last few years, according to the sources he spoke to.
What did the opposition say
The leader of the opposition Bhupinder Singh Hood, while demanding an impartial investigation of the “suicide case”, said that no culprit should be spared and no innocent should be damaged. In this case, it is the responsibility of the state government to ensure justice, adding that the suicide of such a police officer is a tragic incident.
“This incident shaken the whole state. If such a manager is not safe today, he can imagine the situation of ordinary citizens,” the former main minister said in his statement.
Congress MP Kumari Selja said the suicide of IPS officer in Haryana is a very tragic, alarming and deeply painful matter.

A fair, independent and high level of investigation of the incident is necessary to ensure the strictest negotiations against guilt, the former Minister of Trade unions said.
“It is not only a personal tragedy, but a terrifying view of institutional numbness and discrimination based on a caste that is constantly deepening according to the BJP rule,” Selja said in Hindi.
“Since 2020, permanent insults of constant caste, mental harassment and injustice, the officer had to lose his life – emphasizing the administrative failure of the BJP government and its indifference to social justice,” she said.
The Secretary General of the Randeep Singh Surjewala Congress said the alleged suicide of the Dalit IPS Haryana officer is shocking, tragic and heartbreaking.
“My condolences to my family,” he posted on X in Hindi.
“It is the system of Haryan BJP’s government so weak or prejudice that even the Dalitian IPS officer of the rank of ADGP is denied hearing or justice? Is it bitter that Dalit’s officers and staff have been, especially humiliated,” Surjewala especially.
“I still remember how the Higher Minister in the BJP government publicly humiliated the Dalits officer,” he said in his post.

Referring to the alleged suicide of the IPS Surjewal officer, “although the main Minister Nayab Saini maintained silence, he hopes that Chandigarh’s administration and the ministry (trade union) domestic ministry listens to Ias Yumara’s wife and gives him justice”.
Since Saini finally talks about this issue, it remains to see whether the opposition will now increase its attacks on CM while the investigation is progressing.
