Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday (July 13, 2026) directed officials to create a dedicated online portal for registration and scientific disposal of end-of-life vehicles to simplify the scrapping process and increase transparency.

Mr. Saini, who chaired the second meeting of the Council on Artificial Intelligence for Resilient Jobs, Urban Air Quality and Next Generation Skills (ARJUN SPV), said that the state should make optimal use of modern technology to promote clean air, green transport and sustainable development.

The proposed portal will allow citizens to register private vehicles and government departments to register obsolete official vehicles online, making the scrapping process more efficient and transparent, an official statement said.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD) Annual Action Plan 2026-27 and directed the departments to complete initiatives related to clean air, electric mobility, industrial pollution control and crop residue management within the stipulated time frames.

He asked officials to speed up the installation of electric vehicle charging stations across the state and reviewed plans to set up 100 charging stations as part of the state’s electric vehicle policy.

Apart from preparations for the introduction of electric buses in Sonipat, the meeting also discussed the expansion of electric bus services in Gurugram and Faridabad, including infrastructure to operate 200 electric buses under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The board discussed measures to manage air quality based on artificial intelligence, including the preparation of a state emission inventory, the development of a decision support system based on artificial intelligence, the strengthening of continuous monitoring of outdoor air quality, and the improvement of interdepartmental data sharing.

Mr. Saini also emphasized on effective monitoring, financial management, public awareness and grievance redressal mechanisms to ensure timely implementation of projects.
