
President Droucadi Murmu nominated four members for Rajya Sabha. The list of these nominated members was released in the announcement issued by the Ministry for Internal Affairs later on Saturday 12 July.
According to the President, Rajya Sabha nominated four persons according to the powers granted by a clause of 3 Article 80 para. (A) of the Constitution. These nominations come as a result of vacancies created for retirement of previously nominated members.
Meet the four leaders nominated for Rajya Sabha
The list contained names:
1. Rough Vardhan RefreshingWho is the former Foreign Minister. He was also an Ambassador to the US, Bangladesh and Thailand and the main coordinator of the Indian Presidency G20.
2. Meenakshi jainand Well -known historian and academicist. According to her profile on Padega India.in, she released several landmarks, each of which she threw light on the fundamental aspects of the Indian civilization and religious heritage.
In 2024 she released “Vishwanath Rises and Rises: The Story of Eternal Kashi”, which records the history and resistance of Kashi (Varanasi). Her other works include the “Flight of the deities and the rebirth of the temples” (2019) and the “Battle of Rama” (2017).
3. Ujjwal Deorao nicamamamA renowned prosecutor known for dealing with high -ranking criminal cases. He was a special prosecutor in terrorist attacks in Mumbai 26/11. He is also the leader of the Bharatiya Janata party.
4. C. Sadanandan Handle, Higher social worker and teacher from Kerala. He is a teacher from Keraly’s Thrissur, who is also known for surviving a politically motivated attack at the age of 90, reporting Mathrubhumi. It is also associated with an organization based in Kerala Bharatiya Vichara Kendram involved in ideological work.
The President nominates 12 people to Rajya Sabha, who are people with eminence in different fields.
