A day after a labor protest in Noida turned violent, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday (14 Apr 2026) said what was happening on the streets was the “last cry” of the country’s workers, saying the burden of US tariff wars, global inflation and broken supply chains fell not on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “friends of industry” but on everyday “friends of industry”.
The Leader of the Opposition said he stands with every worker who is the backbone of this country and whom the Modi government has “started to treat as a burden”.
