The local government department has prepared Harith Mithram 2.0, an improved version of the mobile application for waste collection, online payment facilities, better track collection monitoring, Malaysian language support and integration into the KSMART system. The new application pilot runs in 30 local bodies. The implementation of the online payment system is expected to bring transparency in the collection of user fees. Members of Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) deployment for waste collection will also have a more user -friendly interface to deal with in the new application. The Department organized an educational program for HKS members to familiarize them with the upgraded application. Together with Malayalam there is a job that adds other languages including Tamil and Kannada to the application. The department now maps all buildings in the state via KSMART on the Harith Mithram application to ensure complete coverage of waste collection. The application provides the possibility of common collection equipment for flat complexes and industrial equipment. In such cases, a common account for the entire complex will be generated. Another new option is the availability of services on request, which would allow the public to obtain services outside the normal HKS calendar. Currently, different types of waste, including substance and glass, are collected only in specific months. Through a new application, people can require the collection of specific types of waste after payment of a fixed fee. This specific function will only be implemented according to the decision of the relevant local body and the HKS unit in each area. In the next update of the application, residents will receive notifications of the upcoming date and time of waste collection, as well as the HKS employee contact information to collect waste. Since the new application and data in it are completely based on the cloud, some technical problems associated with the previous version are expected to be solved. Harith Mithram 2.0 will formally run in Thiruvananthapuram 20 August.
