India’s Hardik Pandya (PTI Photo) TimesofIndia.com in Mullanpur: Hardik Pandya will miss the upcoming three-ODI series against Afghanistan due to a minor quadriceps sprain. Clearly, the premier all-rounder has been in top form and has been training hard at the BCCI Center of Excellence since June 2. He was scheduled to link up with the Shubman Gill-led team in Dharamsala on June 11, but the late setback will keep him in Bengaluru for at least another two weeks.“There was a very late setback. He suffered a mild, low-grade quadriceps sprain which was causing some tenderness. It is nothing long-term, but the medical staff has advised him to avoid any exertion or strain for the next few days. Hardik will remain in Bengaluru and will consult with physios and CoE coaches during the recovery phase,” a BCCI official told.com.com.It now remains to be seen whether the think tank will name a replacement for the 32-year-old, who was due to return to the format after more than a year. The team management has already been informed. Some members of the ODI squad are scheduled to join the squad in Mohali on Wednesday and will have an optional training session at the IS Bindra Stadium before leaving for Dharamsala on Thursday.
