New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals’ decision to select a cricket stadium Guwahati Barsapa as their second homework for the IPL 2025 does not seem to work in its favor. After lost the opening match of the Sunrisers Hyderabad tournament, the team hoped that the home advantage would help them get their campaign back on the track. However, this was not true, because the leading Riyan Parag suffered a 8-ranking defeat against Kalkata Knight in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The former Indian cricket Aakash Chopra emphasized an unconventional approach that captivated Rajasthan Royals in the structure of his home games and called them “difficult to wrap his head”.
“Although I understand the urge to spread the game and take it into different pockets of the country (and Guwahati has a lot of love for the game), it is difficult to wrap your head around that people living in Rajasthan will see their team games for the first time on April 13.
He also pointed out that the playground at the Guwahati Aca stadium was not ideal for Rajasthan Royals.

“The Guwahati playground does not look like the one that suits the strengths of Rajasthan Royal. They need their belly and let the dough win games,” he added.
In another post on X, Chopra wrote: “Guwahati is not just closer to Calcuttte than to Rajasthan … but also the track is the closest to the one asking for KKR in Eden Gardens.”
Rajasthan Royals with two losses in so many matches will then face five times the Chennai Super Kings champions on Sunday.
