Miss Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Henry suffered a terrifying fall from the stage. The contestant, an ophthalmologist by profession, fell during the preliminary round of the Miss Universe evening gown in Thailand.
Videos on social media showed her walking confidently across a Bangkok stage in an orange robe. Then she accidentally stepped off the dark edge of the runway and fell face first.

The audience immediately stood up in shock to help her. Later clips showed Gabriela being carried out on a stretcher. She was taken to Paola Rangsita Hospital.
However, the show continued without a break. While paramedics carried her away on a stretcher, other contestants continued to walk.
Doctors have now confirmed that he has no life-threatening injuries. However, social networks were shocked to see the fall.
“Omg that’s so hard to watch. That was a hard fall,” one user responded.
“Lord Jesus! My heart skipped a beat!” posted another.
Another user wrote: “They need to stop doing these ridiculous encores on stage… It’s not safe for the ladies. I hope my Jamaican queen doesn’t get seriously injured.”

“Doctors are treating her and have reported that she does not have any life-threatening injuries; however, they are continuing to run tests to ensure her full recovery,” the New York Post quoted Miss Universe officials as saying in a statement.
“We ask everyone to remain optimistic, lift her up in prayer and send positive thoughts as she receives the medical care she needs,” the statement added.
Raul Rocha, co-owner of the Miss Universe pageant, prayed for her “speedy recovery.”
“I was there with her family and with her and luckily we have no broken bones and she is in good care. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night and we will stay in touch with her family and support her,” the Mexican businessman wrote.
Miss Universe 2025 Controversy
Miss Universe 2025 is surrounded by major controversies. Allegations of manipulation, conflicts of interest and legal concerns have surfaced.
Three judges resigned just days before the competition, with one claiming that the results had been fixed and that a secret, unofficial panel had already selected the finalists. Another claimed a judge member was romantically involved with a contestant.

Tensions escalated when Nawat Itsaragrisil, director of Miss Universe Thailand, publicly reprimanded Mexican contestant Fatima Bosch for skipping promotions. He even had security remove it.
Several contestants, including the reigning Miss Universe, walked out in protest. Nawat later apologized after Rocha’s intervention.
Thai police are investigating reports that contestants were asked to film promotional content for an online gambling website, allegedly in violation of national laws.
