Teaching at Haileburia Tea Estates in Peerumade will continue after the interviews with Deputy Labor Officer (DLO) on Wednesday 13 August).
The leadership stopped all operations on four estates Haileburia Tea Estates 7th August after the unions protested against paying salaries and other benefits.

Cyriac Thomas, President of the High Plantation (IntuC), said: “During the meeting with DLO in Peerumade, representatives of the company did not provide a time plan to distribute salary and other benefits.
The Vice -Chairman of the Association of High Staff (City) AntAppan M. Jacob said that the property administration unilaterally announced the lock. “Management has refused to pay the provisional fund, remuneration and salary to workers. Even retirement employees are unable to download PF money from their account. When workers’ unions were looking for fees, the company suddenly announced locking,” said Mr. Jacob.
“Many migrant workers work at the Tea Room and use them. More than 150 migrant workers have joined the recent protest City in Elappar. Obo unions are ready to cooperate with the management.
Meanwhile, Haileburia Tea Estates Senior Manager M. Lingaraj said that during the meetings the unions demanded immediate settlement of all fees. “The company must save 5 crore on the provisional fund account. We immediately promised salaries, but trade unions rejected this offer,” Mr. Lingaraj said. The trade unions stood firmly on their requirement to pay the marginal benefits.
“The company is facing a serious financial crisis and has saved 102 acres of land for sale.
According to the head of the forest clerk, the ministry grants the permission to fee trees only after the land records verification.
Haileburia Tea Estates is one of the first tea plantations founded by Europeans in Peerumade Hills.
