
The hackathon ‘SUSTAINATHON’ began on Tuesday at the H. Kempegowda Sports Complex of the Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) here.
The event was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and presided over by Gundappa Gowda, Honorary President of Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Mysuru. Anoop Srikantaswamy, CEO, MoonRider.AI, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest.
In his speech, Mr. Srikantaswamy urged the students to seek advice from everyone but to make their own informed decisions. He challenged them to “identify the unique superpower that sets you apart” and encouraged participants to embrace individuality and innovation.
The hackathon was designed in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), challenging students to develop sustainable, efficient and technologically sound solutions to solve real societal problems, a press release said.
About 54 teams took part in the event. Students from Mangalore, Belagavi, Dharwad, Bengaluru, Erode (Tamil Nadu) and several other regions competed for the prizes.
