Gyaneshi Kumar, you committed a crime but ‘not a master criminal’: What LoP wants to tell Supreme Court about CEC | Today’s news

Ahead of the INDIA bloc’s planned march to the Supreme Court at 1.30pm on Monday, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference and called on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign, saying he was being pressured by senior government officials.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi told CEC Gyanesh Kumar at a press conference: “You have committed a crime and you are not the main criminal. You have made a mistake and you are not responsible for the mistake. We are going after the people behind what you have done. It is very easy for you to resign and get out of the way… We know you were forced by Prime Minister D Shaitoval, Ajith, Minister Ajit.”

He further warned that the protest against CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s conduct would continue. Gandhi added: “Why is all this happening? Because we are only asking the question raised by the two election commissioners: why is Gyanesh Kumar not resigning? These days we are getting information from everywhere.”

Addressing the CEC directly, he said, “Gyaneshi Kumar, we know your situation. We know you can’t sleep at night, and don’t worry; we will not spare you. I am telling you directly that as Election Commissioner you will not run away because of what is happening. Lakhs of people are questioning you and your conduct and they will not stop.”
