Mukhyamantri Paushhtik Alpahar Yojana from the Gujarate Government provides students with nutritional supplements at 32,200 elementary schools. The scheme serves more than 40 students of Lakhu from Balvatika to Class 8 to become the first state to implement such a comprehensive additional nutrition program along with the current Prime Minister Poshan in the middle of the day, said officials in the main minister’s office (CMO) on Saturday.
The program provides daily refreshments containing approximately 200 kilocalories and 6 grams of protein per serving. “Nutritional supplements include traditional foods such as Sukhdi, Chana Chaat, mixed pulses and millet refreshments. These items are turned according to a solid schedule to ensure nutritional diversity and cultural adequacy,” he said. All refreshments are prepared according to standardized recipes and strict security protocols set by the state department of nutrition, the officials added.
This system works with the budget of 617.67 GBP for the financial year 2025-26 as part of the Suposhit Gujarat mission. “Implementation requires coordination between multiple government authorities, including education, health and local government institutions. The monitoring system includes regular controls of food components, preparation processes and distribution mechanisms to ensure effective delivery at all implementation points,” they said.
Main Minister Bhupendra Patel introduced this program as part of the State focus on integrated child development. “The implementation framework includes school management committees, local healthcare professionals and nutritionists who cooperate to maintain the quality and coverage of the program,” the officials added.
