In a notable achievement, Guruvayur municipality has secured a hat-trick by winning the prestigious Swaraj Trophy for the best municipality in the state for the third consecutive year.
The award recognizes excellence in decentralized management, effective planning and exemplary implementation of development and social initiatives. Guruvayur has earned the highest state honor for its consistent administrative efficiency and people-centric management.
The award was announced by MB Rajesh Local Authorities. The Swaraj Trophy carries a cash prize of ₹ 50 lakh along with a trophy and a citation.
A key role in securing this award was played by the municipality’s continuous efforts in the field of scientific waste management, eradication of extreme poverty, optimal use of plan funds and effective implementation of social care programs for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Moreover, its exemplary initiatives in agriculture, education and inclusive development have established Guruvayur as a benchmark in local governance and won recognition both within the state and at the national level.
