A 25-year-old man was found dead in Noida’s Sector 94 on Saturday (October 3, 2026), hours after he had checked into the Airbnb where he was staying.
The deceased has been identified as Sambhav Jain, a resident of Manesar in Gurugram district of Haryana. According to police, he checked out of an Airbnb at Supernova Society on Friday (October 2, 2026) and was due to leave on Saturday (October 3, 2026).
Noida ACP Praveen Kumar Singh said initial investigations indicated that Jain was in financial distress after taking the loan.
“He had taken a loan and was in financial distress. Till the time before his death, he was in touch with his father and was sending WhatsApp messages that he did not want to live. Before the incident, he had also sent a video message that he was in distress,” the officer said.
Police said Jain was on the outside of the balcony railing when people nearby spotted him. Some air conditioning repair workers in a nearby apartment tried to intervene and convince him to come back. During the attempt, he allegedly told one of the workers that he was depressed.
Despite their efforts, he ended his life around 11:30 a.m., police said.
A video of the moments before the incident showed Jain standing on the outer ledge of a high-rise building as people on the ground watched her anxiously. Bystanders could be heard warning security personnel as efforts were made to stop him from ending his life.
The police reached the spot after the incident and took the body into custody and then sent it for post-mortem. His family claimed the body, police said.
During the preliminary investigation, the police also found that Jain had allegedly sent a message to his father that he was going to end his life. He reportedly said he was responsible for the decision.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading to his death and are gathering further information from his family.
