This season, Ahmedabad was only Samson’s second game as a full -time Captain, who played the first three games only as a dough, while Riyan Parag led the side. In particular, Parag was also fined for a similar crime at the beginning of this season after the victory of RR over Chennai Super Kings.
This fine falls under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code and adds only to the suffering of RR at the unsatisfactory beginning of the season. With only 2 wins and 3 losses in their first five matches, Royals are currently sitting on No. 7 on the point table.
