GSTAT Benches inaugurated in Vijayawada, Vizag

The Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam benches of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) – Andhra Pradesh were inaugurated on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, GSTAT Vice President and Member (Judicial) Vemireddy Bhaskar Reddy emphasized the determination of the Tribunal to provide speedy, transparent and efficient justice to taxpayers while ensuring uniformity and efficiency in adjudication of GST appeals.

An official statement said the inauguration of the Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam benches and commencement of hearings on the same day reflected the joint efforts of the state GST tribunal and the central administrations with the appellate mechanism fully functional.

The establishment of these benches was expected to ensure speedy disposal of GST appeals, improve access to justice for taxpayers across the state, reduce litigation and further strengthen the implementation of the GST regime.

GSTAT Member (Technical) Sathish Kumar Agrawal, Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu attended the event. A., Special Commissioner Nutulapati Soumya, Commissioner (Appeals) Devesh Gupta, Commissioner (Customs) RK Raman, Commissioner (CGST) Arun Richard, Additional Commissioner (Customs) Lakshmi Narayana, Additional Commissioner (CGST) G. Raju Yadav and Deputy Secretary Judicial Officers GSTAT-AP and VS Kishore and Ch. Ra Krihnay Pratyusha.
