B. Sudershan Reddy, Vice -President of the Opposition Candidate, said that if an attempt to restructure GST and the formulation of suitable policies concerning the allocation of financial resources would be successful, it would sound for the very idea of federalism.
“States Would Be Reduced to the Level of Municipalities, and Made to Depend on Handouts from Whoever is in Power. It is and Matter of Serious Concern for All of Us. Unless We All Think Seriously About It and Collectively Evolve A Approviate Strategy and Policy to Face The Imprending Difficults, not only the idea of federalism, But the Constitution Itself Would Be in Danger, ”He Said at and Meeting Organized by Tamil over Chief Ministry of MK Stalin and Alliance Partners of the DMK at Chennai 24 August 2025 (Sunday).
Reddy remembered the request of the DMK on the Sarkaria Commission to cancel the post of Governor, and said that the party was a visionary, expecting an upcoming crisis that faced today.
Without the name of BJP, Mr. Reddy claimed that only those who do not understand the idea of India and the institutes repeat the phrase “One Nation”. “It is as if the others have questioned this proposal. Of course, our one is one nation. But what is India, is it bharat? Is it a connection of states. What is a Union without states? What is a nation without its states?
Mr. Stalin, who called Mr. Reddy’s champion of federalism, said he was facing everyday challenges and the dangers that represent forces, and entrust the interests that seek to undermine the idea of federalism.
Reddy replied to the opinion that he had no place in the political arena, because during his previous career and the judge did not participate in politics, Mr. Reddy said that those who asked the question forgot that the constitution itself was a political document.
“I do not belong to any political party and I do not intend to join him. But saying that I have nothing to do with politics, it is to say that I have nothing to do with democracy. The political process is an integral part of democracy – they are interconnected,” he said.
Asked about the comments of the Minister of the Interior of the Union, Amita Shaha, Mr. Reddy said he had already answered in Hinda. “There’s no point in revising it again and again. I said everything I need to say.
When Mr. Reddy was asked to compare his candidacy with CP candidacy Radhakrishnan, who will apply for the ideology of RSS, he said he did not want to comment on any of the candidates. “It will be one of the most decent elections they have ever fought. I am a liberal constitutional democrat, with a full belief in the institute and loyalty to the constitution,” he said.
In response to whether he would meet the main Minister Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababa Naida to seek his support, Mr. Reddy explained that it does not matter, because political parties were not members of the election university. “I recall everyone to consider their candidacy for merit,” he said.
