
GST reforms proved to be beneficial for ordinary people and the Super GST – Super Savings program brings new light to the lives of ordinary citizens, said the district collector NTR G. Lakshmisha.
The collector, who participated in the Assembly of the Old Government General Hospital (GGH) in Vijayawada on Thursday (October 9), said that under the Super GST 2.0, the tax burden on various sectors was significantly reduced.
Citing examples said that life insurance, which previously attracted 18% of GST, is now completely exempt from tax. Similarly, health and family insurance were provided. Basic drugs for life rescue, which had previously had 12% GST, are now without tax without tax, adding that the tax on medical equipment and diagnostic sets was reduced from 12% to 5%.
He stressed that from the level of the village, extensive programs of raising awareness of education about the benefits of these reforms are carried out. Campaigns of awareness are held in hospitals, engraving Seva Kendras, Anganwadis, educational institutions and other public institutions, said the common collector S. ILAKKIYA.
Commissioner GST Vijayawada S. Prashant Kumar and District Medical and Medical Officer M. Suhasini emphasized the specific advantages of GST reforms in the health sector. They said GST in conventional medicines was reduced from 12% to 5% and the same rate now applies to test sets.
