After extending the deadline for the Gruha Jyothi door-to-door survey till October 31, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) has asked consumers who could not be covered during the ongoing survey, especially those whose houses were found locked or vacant, to visit their nearest Bescom branch and submit the required documents.
Bescom said in a release on Thursday (October 15, 2026) that the move is aimed at ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries are included in the scheme and that no one is left out of the survey.
During the survey, Bescom identified 16.09 lakh locked houses and 28,519 vacant houses where no one was available to supply the documents required for the survey.
The report also said that this is the last, one-time opportunity for beneficiaries to verify their documents and that the Energy Department will not conduct the exercise again.
