
Brazilian President Luiz Lula Da Silva said on Thursday that he would not take the tariff directive from the “foreign leader”, referring to US President Donald Trump.
Reuters said Lula further killed the US proposed 50% obligation as “unacceptable blackmail”.
His notes, which were made at two different events, reflect the ongoing tension between two presidents that have intensified after the US stored a steep tariff last week.
In the paper on X, Lula wrote: “There are no winners in business wars. We are a country of peace, without enemies. We believe in multilateralism and cooperation between nations. But let no one forget: Brazil has only one owner – the Brazilian people.”

Trump credited the tariff, which was prepared for beginning in August, Brazilian treatment of former President Jair Bolsonar and business practices against American societies he said were unfair. The announcement of the tariff came days after Lula called Trump “Emperor” who does not want the world.
Lula and its cabinet members rejected the justification of tariffs and emphasized Brazilian sovereignty and urged business negotiations with the United States.
“No stranger will give orders to this president,” Lula said in a speech using the slang word “GRINGO”, which is a common term for foreigners without a pejorative sense in other parts of Latin America.

He added that Brazil would continue to regulate and taxation of American technology companies and told the rally of left -wing student activists in Goias that technology companies are conducted by violence and false reports masked as freedom of speech, Reuters reported.
Later on Thursday, during the evening television and radio addresses of the nation, Lula said that the defense of Brazilian sovereignty is expanding to protect against the actions of foreign digital platforms.

During the nearly five -minute address Lula, she said Brazil was negotiating with the United States on tariffs and repeating that the Latin American country had sent a proposal in May, Reuters reported.
“We expected an answer, and what we received was unacceptable blackmail, in the form of threat to Brazilian institutions and false information about the trade between Brazil and the United States,” Lula said.
Brasilia leads a discussion with industrial groups and companies that will be influenced by the American tariff, while preparing potential retaliation if they are discussed.

Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on Thursday said CNN Brasil independently that Lula had been open to interviews with Trump, who had not yet met.
