Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelsky announced on Tuesday (October 14) that a high -level delegation had gone to the United States before the planned meeting with President Donald Trump on Friday (October 1).
“The Ukrainian delegation went to the United States: Prime Minister Yulia SvyryDenko, Head of the President’s Office Andria Yermak, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rust Umerov and several representatives of the diplomatic sector.
“I will also have the opportunity to come to Washington and meet President Trump on Friday. I believe we will discuss a number of steps I intend to propose. I am grateful to President Trump for our dialogue and his support,” he added.
Focus on air defense and long range options
He said greenishly that the main focus on his visit would be to ensure air defense systems and long -distance strikes to defend against continuing Russian bombing.
“There will be several other important meetings – with defensive companies and perhaps the senators and congress members. I will also meet energy companies,” he said.
“This is necessary – it was the proposal of President Trump – and I meet these companies because there are urgent needs associated with different attack formats … In any case, we have to be ready.”
Push on American missiles Tomahawk
Trump is expected to lobby for Tomahawk’s US excursion missiles, which can hit targets up to 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles) to gift Moscow and other key Russian sites within reach.
Tomahawks would become the longest weapons in the Kiev arsenal, allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with greater accuracy and heavier useful load than drones.
Trump warned Moscow that he could enable such a conversion, Washington had previously ruled out the fear of escalating.
Russian strikes intensify in Charkiv
As Zelsky prepared for his visit to the US, Russian forces launched overnight strong sliding bombs and dronesUkrainian second largest city.
Strikes hit the main hospital, injured seven people and forced to evacuate 50 patients, according to the regional head Oleh Synihubov. He stated in Zelena that the main goal was energy equipment.
“Every day, every night, Russia will hit power plants, power lines and our gas equipment,” he said on the telegram.
Energy war and attraction for global support
The Ukrainian leader said that Russian attacks over long distance on the Earth’s energy grid were part of the campaign for freezing energy in winter.
“We rely on the US and Europe meetings, G7, all partners who have these systems and can provide them with our people,” he urged.
“The world must force Moscow to sit at the table for real action.”

Military Aid to Ukraine is falling sharply
Meanwhile, data from the German Institute of Kiel, which monitors the global support of Ukraine, showed a 43% decline in foreign military aid in July and August compared to the first half of 2025.
The decline followed the creation of a list of priorities of the Ukrainian list (Furl)-NATO-managed fund managed, which brings together members (with the exception of the US) to purchase US weapons and equipment for Ukraine.
Despite the slowdown of the Institute, he noted that assistance in the first half of 2025 still exceeded the total contributions in 2022–2024, which shows the ongoing but uneven support.
