
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelsky is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump in the White House on Friday, according to US administration officials and the Ukrainian embassy.
Ambassador of Ukraine in the US, Olga Stefanishyn, confirmed the meeting while the spokesman of the embassy of Halyna Yusypiuk said that Trump personally invited Zelezsky to high -level interviews, NB News reported.
Trump suggests possible support of the Tomahawk rocket
The visit comes when Trump indicated that the US is considering the supply of Ukraine by long Tomahawk missiles that could be used to achieve goals within Russia.
“Maybe not, but we can do it,” Trump said on Monday in Air Force One. “I think it is advisable to raise – yeah, I want. I want to see how the war settled.”
Trump also confirmed the discussion with the Green missiles at the weekend: “We’ll see,” he said.
Russian leaders warned against providing weapons. President Vladimir Putin said that such a step would mean a “qualitatively new phase of escalation”, while former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned: “It could end for all and especially Trump.”
Ukrainian delegation to focus on defense and energy
Green visit will be included in top Ukrainian officials, such as Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and National Security head Rustus Umerov.
Andriy Yermak, the head of the Zeletsky Office, said in the post on X: “The aim of a high level is to strengthen the defense of Ukraine, ensure our energy resistance and intensify the pressure of sanctions on the aggressor.”
He added that Trump’s discussions concerned key topics during recent calls: “We agreed on a set of topics we discussed today, and we covered all aspects of the situation: defense of life in our country, strengthening our abilities-in air defense, long-range resistance.”
Greenly emphasize strategic needs
On Sunday’s Sunday interview, Fox News stressed the need for advanced air defense systems and long -range weapons. “We need a real air defense. And the second point is to have long weapons, long distance capabilities,” he said.
The Ukrainian President also referred to the peace agreement on Israel Hamas, which Trump mediated as a source of hope. “The peace agreement between Israel and Hamas gave my country hope – after Trump told me that the war of Ukraine was more difficult (ending) that it was a greater war.”
