To provide free specialized care to children with developmental disabilities, an ‘Early Intervention Centre’ was inaugurated on Wednesday at Kamarajar nagar, Melpatti Ponnappan Street, Perambur under Tondiarpet zone of Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
Two more such centers are to be set up – one at CP Ramasamy Road and another at Thiruvanmiyur. Based on demand and availability of specialists, the initiative will be expanded to more urban primary health centers (UPHCs), according to a GCC official from Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital.
