US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he would repeat the parks in Washington as part of his plans to beautify the city. He talked about the “revitalization” of parks with new grass, installing new sprinkler systems and replacing markings throughout the capital.
“One of the things we’ll rework as your parks. I know more about grass than any human being anywhere in the world. We’ll regain your parks, new sprinkler systems,” Trump said.
“It will look like Augusta. It will look more important, Trump National Golf Club – that’s even better,” he said.
Trump said he knew a lot about grass because he owns many golf courses.
“We have life and grass has life and grass died here about 40 years ago. So we will rebuild all your parks,” Trump said.
“Let’s say that at the end of the year this place will be maximized in terms of beauty,” the US president added.
Trump made a statement during his excursion on Thursday to the US Park Police Operational Facility in Washington, where he addressed about 300 soldiers of the National Guard and federal coercive officials and appreciated his military intervention against crime and immigration in the city.
His comments in the grass left the Internet in a division. “That’s so cheerful. And I absolutely believe he knows about the grass,” one user said. Another one added, “Why is he so funny.”
There were several comments that criticized Trump. One read: “Your recent statement that you know more about grass than any human being in the world is as confused as it is unfounded.”
Next said, “It will be a miracle if we survive with this buffoon for 3+ years.”
The US President said he was planning to guard Washington Street, with soldiers he put in the US capital in a show of power against what he claims is an “emergency”.
Trump ordered hundreds of National Guards last week to deploy in Washington, and promised to “take our capital back” despite the protests of some people and statistics that show that violent crimes are falling.
