Trump’s administration last week deported a woman Sikh of Pandjab, who had lived in the US for more than 30 years. Her lawyer said she hadn’t been given her bed for 60-70 hours and was forced to sleep on the floor without a blanket.
Sikh, Harjit Kaur, aka ‘Bibi Ji’, was detained by immigration authorities in California after going for routine control, raised protests and concerns between her family and community members.
Later, the handcuffs of ice officials (immigration and customs enforcement) were in the middle of the night and moved to the detention center in Bakersfield to Los Angeles and placed on a flight to Georgia – without announcing a lawyer, Kaur’s lawyer, PTI said.
“A flapped bed, a shower”
According to a deported lawyer, Sikh Harjit Kaur failed to get up after his exhaustive flight because she underwent a double knee replacement operation.
“She got a bed for almost 60-70 hours and forced to sleep on the floor with a blanket. She was unable to get up when she had a double knee replacement,” Ahluwalia said.
“She was also denied a shower all the time. She and some other wet napkins got on Monday before the flight on Monday, and said she got to Delhi before joining the plane from Georgia to Armenia.”
