Indrakeeladri, the dwelling of the goddess Kan Durg, a source with devotion and pulsating cultural enthusiasm on the occasion of “Ashadha Purnima”, as thousands of devoted devotees participated on Thursday.
The goddess was decorated with a beautiful “Swarna Kavach” (Golden Armor), and it seemed to be devi devi, decorated with a series of dry and fresh fruits and vegetables. The senior priest of the temple, ShivaPrasad, along with the Vedic Committee and other Archanges, performed “Saptashati Homam”, “Maha Vidya Parayanam”, “Shanti Paushtika Homam” and “Kushmanda Bali”.
On this occasion, the executive officer of Temple VK Seena Naik said that prayers were offered for early rain, rich harvest and prosperity of the nation and state. During the three days-from 8 to 10. The devoted were offered “Kadambam Prasadam”, ready with vegetables, without cost during celebrations.
As part of the “Gurnima Gurnima”, also known as “Purnima”, a special felicitative ceremony honored spiritual teachers and Vedic scholars. Among these felicities were: Tangiral Venkateswara Ghanapati, Vedic scholar from Devasthanam; Shankaramanchi ShivaPrasad, Chief Priest of the Temple; Ahitagni Guntur Sri Ramacandra Somayaulu, a Vedic scholar from Krishhnalanka.
Mr. Sea Naik, together with his husband, initiated “Pradakshin” with special loan and coconut broken rituals. Devoted enthusiasm meant a procession by the performance of “Kolaatam” (traditional dance), Bhajans, Sankeertans, cultural presentations and Vedic singing scholars. The route went through the Ghat Road temple, the center of Kummaripal, Vidyadharapuram, the milk factory, Chittinagar, Kothapet, Brahmin Street and culminated in Indrakeeradri, with thousands of devotion in respect and searching for the blessing of the goddess and Lord Mallesh.
In conjunction with the full moon day, the temple witnessed the end of the three -day celebrations of Mahapurnahuti. The events included Kalasshodvasana, Marjanam, Prasadam distribution and a ceremonial conclusion (UTSAVA Samapti) festivities.
