The winner of Violinest and Grammy Award Manoj George stressed that the government should take the initiative to recognize small artists who will play through short films to fulfill their film dreams.
He spoke at a commemorative event for journalists and filmmakers Geo Sunny, who also included a ceremony with a short film in Thrissur Press Club on Tuesday.
He remembered that when he won Grammy, he handed the petition to the then main Minister Oommen Chandy and later the subsequent government and urged the recognition of such beginning artists. However, no measures have been taken. Mr. George noted that it was encouraging to see organizations such as a press club to recognize and appreciate such talents.
Journalist Jebin Joseph presented a lecture by Geo Sunny Memorial. President of the MB Babu press club, Secretary Ranjith Balan and others spoke.
The award was presented to the best short films. Ludo’s Heart from Sudeesh Sivasankaran won the Best Film Prize Award, Kuttippencil by Hen Chandran won the second best film and director of the same One Haridev Krishhnan won the third best film.
