
The Ministry of Geology and mines has made GPS equipment mandatory for all vehicles carrying minerals from quarries, crushers and storage yards in the Villupuram division from 1 August.
At the meeting held in Villupuram on Wednesday, A. All trucks carrying minerals should be registered at the department and equipped with AIS-140 or higher standards of GPS equipment. Similarly, quarry operators were instructed to install weighing bridges in their premises.
