The College of General Practitioners Indian Medical Association (based in Chennai) will hold its national conference ‘GPCON-2025’ on December 6 and 7 at Vizianagaram. The conference will discuss the role of artificial intelligence in general practice and other challenges facing the medical fraternity. On December 5, a workshop on basic life support will take place in the same premises.
College Dean VS Prasad, conference organizing committee chairman M. Venkateswara Rao and former IMA state president JC Naidu held a preparatory meeting on Wednesday to discuss arrangements for the more than 800 delegates expected to attend the scientific talks.
In a speech to the media, Dr. Prasad said that IMA National President Dr. Dilip Bhanushali and other medical experts will discuss the role of general practitioners against the backdrop of the spread of several new diseases such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and others emerging among the youth due to lifestyle changes.
IMA-Vizianagaram District President V. Ashok, IMA-Vizianagaram District Secretary Lanka Srinivas, Conference Organizing Secretary A. Madhukar and Conference Organizing Committee members Bhavani Shankar, Mahendra Giri, Varma and others were present.
