New Delhi: Minister of Commerce with Department and Minister of Industry Piyush Goyal on Sunday launched a three -day official visit to France as part of a five -day European trip, which will also take him to Italy. It will participate in the informal assembly of WTO ministers at its secondary range, where the Indian view of key global business problems, including food safety, sustainability and changes needed in the global trade rules are expected to grow in growing protectionism.
The Minister will also organize a bilateral meeting with the United Kingdom, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Nigeria and Brazil.
It is important that Goyal will also meet EU Commissioners Maroš Šefčovich and Christophe Hansen to give fresh dynamics of India-Eu FTA, which is now in advanced stages of negotiations.
“As both parties show political will to conclude an agreement, the discussion is expected to help bridge the remaining gaps, especially in areas such as car tariffs and market access,” said Dathesh Parulekar, associate professor of international relations at GoA University.
Goyal will travel to Italy, where it is expected to continue high -level interviews with government and industrial leaders to strengthen bilateral trade and investment.
