Former IPS officer and BRS General Secretary RS Praveen Kumar claimed that he was served with a notice by the SIT at midnight in the wiretapping case with the orders of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy following his statement that VC Sajjanar had no moral right to head the SIT.
In Shayampet in Hanamkonda district on Saturday, he said his statement was based on the information he had and he did not resort to any character assassination. Let Mr. Sajjanar come out clearly and say that there are no cases against him.
The former IPS officer said the cases were filed in Andhra Pradesh on June 9, 2015, alleging that an intelligence officer illegally tapped his phone after the “cash-for-vote” incident came to light and Mr. Sajjanar was one of the named officers.
He termed the notification served to him as part of the government’s ongoing attempts to divert attention and sought to know how long the government would continue with the notification drama. He alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy collaborated with AP to divert Godavari and Krishna water to non-basin areas with the help of Banakacherla regulator in the name of flood water.
