The Chief Minister of Pinaraya Vijayan launched the State Convention on the Keral Police Association (KPA) on Thodupuzha in IDUKKI.
At the opening of the conference, the main minister said that the police in Kerala is the best investigation agency in the country and to maintain law and order.
Mr. Vijayan said that strict steps would be taken against those who show bad tendencies on the police.
The main minister said that when the government of the left democratic front (LDF) came to power, the previous government did not pay social security pensions for 18 months. “The government is now distributing 1,600 GBP for more than 60 lakhs in the state as social security pensions. Former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran and other united democratic leading governments were reluctant to distribute social care pensions,” he said.
Mr. Vijayan said that the state government is planning to increase social security pensions in the future.
During the welcome speech, the State Secretary of the Police Association of EV Pradeepan raised the question of the inspection of the salary, among other things. But Mr. Vijayan criticized the head of the association and said that such requirements should not be made in a welcome speech.
According to sources, the Convention demanded that the police station be divided into four sections such as a probe, law and order, community police and administration.
“The number of strength staff is less than the national average. Some stations operate in the state that operate only 19 in the state. In Kerala there are 177 staff on Lakh people, while states such as Arunacal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland have 1,000 personnel people per lakh.”
The chairmen of the meeting were chaired by President KPA Sudheer Khan. The conference was attended by Minister of Agriculture P. Praad, Minister of Water Resources Rosha Augustine, Thodupuzha Mla PJ Joseph, head of the state police Shaik Darvesh Saheb.
