Andhra Pradesh is taking steps to deal with the lack of clinical psychologists whose services are essential for society, the Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Care of Satya Kumar Yadav said.
On Friday, October 10, which spoke in the program of raising awareness organized by Indlas in Vijayawada to mark the World Mental Health Day on Friday, October 10.
Mr. Yadav emphasized the growing importance of psychologists and noted that mental health problems among youth increase due to changing lifestyles and work cultures. He pointed out that the growing suicide rate not only affects families but also to society. He added that mental health problems, significantly affect the economy and rank among the ten best health problems in the state.
The Minister also announced that the government will soon set up an advisory board in the field of mental health in Andhra Pradesh, with a well -known psychiatrist Indla Ramasabba Reddy was appointed its chairman.
The collector of the NTR district G. Lakshmisha stressed that real health includes physical and mental well -being. “Wealth is important if the individual is not mentally healthy,” he said.
Previously, the Minister described the rally for walking in the field of mental health. The event was also attended by P. Chandra Sekhar, Vice -Rector Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, V. Radhik Reddy, registrar and district physician and medical officer M. Suhasini.
