Ormer Revenue Minister and senior Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Dharmana Prasada Rao on Sunday (December 14, 2025) asked the state government to implement the land reforms initiated during the tenure of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as they were necessary to find a permanent solution to land disputes in villages and other places.
In an interview to The Hindu, he alleged that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had spread rumors and created fear among people regarding land reforms on the pretext that the then CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photograph was printed on the passbooks.
“The previous government completed the land survey in nearly 10,000 villages and distributed passbooks to nearly 30 million people. The reforms were stalled by the TDP government.”
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should focus on reforms to ensure clean revenue records at all levels,” said Mr. Prasada Rao. He said officials of the tax and registration departments had cheated the public under the guise of lack of proper records of their land holdings.
