
The Tamil Government approved the amount of 1,000 GBP for improving roads in Village Panchayats and the Panchayat Unions under Mudhalvarin Gram Salaigal Membatt Thittam in 2025-26.
The total amount of 1,000 crore 1,000 GBP, includes 344 GBP Crore from the component of the associated income (SCPAR), 200 CRORE from the GBR Fund (CGF) (district), 300 CGF (state) and 156 GBP from CGF (other district roads).
The Chief Minister Tamil Nadu announced last June that Mudhalvarin Gram Saalaigal Membatt Thittam would be implemented, of which 10,000 km of Panchayat Union will be improved in 2024-25 and 2025-26.
During the year 2024-25 a total of 1,963 works were carried out to improve roads for 2,435 km and take place. At the beginning of this year, another 746 roads started under the program. During 2025-26 it was designed to occupy about 2,500 km.
