Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has received more than 130 applications from companies that want to launch adventure travel activities in the state.
In response to applications, the government published a comprehensive set of instructions for the regulation of the sectors and ensuring tourist security on Tuesday. New instructions focus on key areas such as registration and operators’ licensing, safety standards, security protocols, environmental protection and job opportunities for local youth.
The department categorized adventure tourism in three segments: water -based activities such as speed cruises, kayak, driving, diving and floating restaurants, ground activities such as climbing, trekking and bunjee and air activities such as paragliding, hot balloon, skydiving and air sapparies.
In order to ensure the safety of tourists, all guides have to undergo risk training and first aid and children under 18 years of age are forbidden to participate in high -risk activities.
APTDC CEO AMRAPALI said: “The Toužin Society has undertook to support adventure tourism and at the same time ensure the safety and well -being of tourists.” She added that the instructions are designed to regulate this industry and provide operators.
