The government promised to capture Leopard, which will continue to terrorize the Mannarmaly region near Perinthalmanna. Government certainty came after a number of protests of local people.
The Minister of Forest Ak Sasendran said that the decisive measures, including the capture of Leopard by reassuring it, for the safety of the residents of Mannarmala will be taken.
The residents of Mannarmala watched Leopard several times last week and made them protest against the apathy of forest authorities.
The forest staff had previously tried to capture Leopard by putting a trap on the cage but failed.
Local people blocked the road on Wednesday and demanded the action to capture Leopard. Police registered the case against 30 persons, including President Vettathur Panchayat CM Mustafa and councilor Thorappa Haidar for blocking the road.
The protesters clashed with the police when they were forcibly removed. Demonstrators warned that they would not take up until the leopard was taken.
