The state government has submitted candidates panels to be considered as temporary vice -chairmen of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and Digital University Keral (DUK) on Tuesday in the light of the Kereral High Court on temporary protestors.
According to official sources, the panel designed by the University Ministry for KTU, which is entrusted with the technical education of Jayaprakash P., a former KTU registrar A. Poeen and Sieb R., professor, civil engineering, TKM College of Engineering, Kollam.
The panel submitted by the Ministry last year included both prof. JayAprakash, prof. Praseen. Former member of Syndicate Vinekouar Jacob, who was also part of the panel, was omitted on the new list.
Details of the list submitted by the Department of Electronics and Information Technologies for the appointment of the Vice -President in DUK are still known.
Minister of Higher Education, R. Bindu called on Governor to democratically take the necessary steps. She added that any approach in which the state government is denied any word in the appointment of the vice -chairman is autocratic, Mediaperons said.
On the other hand, Raj Bhavan moves the transfer of the Supreme Court to “seek clarity in the judgment. Although it examines the legal council on this matter, Raj Bhavan could increase the claim on the Act on the Commission for Grants of the University and its regulations, which take precedence over the State University Acts. There could also be an advisor to the criteria of appointment of temporary vice -pre -premises, sources said.
Raj Bhavan appointed K. Sivaprasad and foreign Thomas for the Vice -President who were entrusted with Ktu and Duk, respectively 27 November, and ignored the panels presented by the state government.
