The state government has prepared proposals for water supply from the irrigation irrigation scheme of J. Choke Rao Devadula (DLIS) and Sriramsagar (SRSP) to the Suryapet District, especially on Tuesday, with estimated costs of 1,000 crore, Minister for irrigation and civil supply N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
The Minister said that at the prolonged meeting of the Congress at the district level, he gathered feedback from the party’s employees on the appointment of the new President for the District Congress Committee (DCC), said the Congress Government is working with unwavering determination to streamline the supply of water SRSP to the Suryapet district.
He noted that the capacity of the tank, which was originally 112 TMC FT, dropped to 80 TMC FT due to sowtat, which affected the water supply in the tail. He said that the government will be launched by de-wyscling works in SRP and repair damaged channels and lining to restore full capacity and continuous flow of water.
He added to the former Minister and leader of the late Ramreddy Damodar Reddy Congress for bringing the SRP 2 to the district, remembered that Congress led several agitations under his leadership, including the “Raktharpanam” protest and demanded the water of SRSP to the area. In honor of the late leader, the government decided to appoint SRSP 2 after Damodar Reddy, said Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
On the front of agriculture, the state was ready to achieve a historical unpeeled production of 148.3 Lakh tons this season kharif. The Minister said the government was ready to buy 80 lakh tons for estimated costs at 24,000 GBP Crore.
Later, at the inspection meeting held here, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the government was determined to complete DLIS to make Northern Telangans a granary of agricultural production. The meeting was attended by Minister Panchayat Raj D. Seethak, deputy P. Balaram Naik, Mlas KR Nagara, M. Yashaswini Reddy, P. Rajeshwar Reddy and irrigation department offices.
The Minister of irrigation said that out of 5.57 lakh acres of irrigation planned under DLIS in Warangal, Hanmakonda, Karimnagar, Jayashankar-Bhupalapally, Mulug, Yangaon, Bhongir-Yadadri, Suryapet and SidiPet district, 3kh Acres has already been given. About 14,270 GBP Crore has already been spent from the revised costs of 18,500 GBP Crore.
Regarding the progress of work, he said that the length of the channels was already dug from 2,430 km and the length of the pipeline of 670 km was determined from 703 km. The channel residents were also completed for 800 km.
