
On Thursday, the State Cabinet granted an administrative sanction for the establishment of the State Institute of Transplantation of Authorities and Tissues in Kozhikode.
Administrative sanctions were provided for the establishment of an institute for the price of 643.88 GBP Crore, according to a detailed report of the project submitted by the implementation agency.
The Institute is assumed as an umbrella organization that brings together scientists, researchers and professional clinics and will coordinate all activities related to organ donations and transplants in the state, including treatment and rehabilitation. The Institute will appear on 20 acres in Chevayur in Kozhikode.
The steps have already started for the construction of the building and for the purchase of the necessary equipment, a statement issued by the Minister of Health, Veen George said here.
The Institute will manage not only organ transplantation and treatment, but also research, teaching, training and activities to support organ donation. It was assumed that it was supposed to provide comprehensive care and treatment of patients, directly from the treatment of final organ transplant organs and rehabilitation after transplantation.
The Institute will have six floors on six floors. It is planned to build a modern hospital with 510 beds with 219 general beds, 42 special beds, 58 ICU beds, 83 units with high addiction, 16 operating theaters, dialysis center and transplant research center.
In the first phase, 330 beds and 10 operating theaters will be prepared and the remaining 180 beds and six operating theaters will be completed in the second phase. In the first phase there will be 14 special divisions and another seven in the second phase.
The government aims to develop the institute as the main teaching center and focuses on the start of 31 academic courses.
Once the Institute is fully functional, the ability to master transplants of different organs, including cornea, kidneys, liver, intestines, pancreas, heart, lung, bone marrow, soft tissues, hands and bones, should be able to handle transplants of different organs, including cornea, kidney, liver, bowel, pancreas.
Currently, all operations of authorities in the public sector are managed by government hospitals by the Faculty of Medicine in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode, as well as the General Hospital in Ernacula.
All donations and transplant activities in the public sector are coordinated and managed by organizations for transplantation of Keral organs.
