
The government is considering organizing the Kerala State School Arts Festival and the Special Schools Festival in the coming years, General Education Minister V Sivankutty said.
Speaking in Tirur on Saturday, the minister said the move was part of efforts to ensure equal opportunities for children with special needs.
Almost 3,100 students participated in 106 events of the Special Schools Art Festival.
Students who got an A grade were given ₹1,000. In addition, the government has also provided a participation allowance of ₹1,500 to special schools participating in the festival.
The minister said that an amount of Rs.35 lakh has been earmarked from the plan fund for organizing a special school function.
