Minister of irrigation and Civil Agreement N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said on Friday that the Congress Government will protect the legitimate share of telangana in the waters of Krishna and Godavari through any necessary methods.
He made it clear that he would have no compromise about the rights to the state of the state that he described as essential for the prosperity of farmers and the future of Telangana. When checking the ongoing irrigation work on the Krishna River in the Suryapet district, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has descended and held it responsible for pushing the irrigation sector into the crisis and burdening the state with a stunning 16,000 crore in annual interest payments only for irrigation loans.
The Minister said that the financial burden caused by poorly management BRS was nothing but a sin against the people of Telangans. On the contrary, he claimed that the congress government was a real administration for farmers who continuously work to ensure justice for farmers Telangany.
Finding Fault With the Brs Rule for Failing to Protect the State’s Fair Share of Krishna Waters, Mr. UTTAM REDDY POINTED OUT THAT WHILE The Krishna Water Allocation for Combined Andhra Pradesh Was 811 TMC FT, The Previous Brs Regime Had Agreed to Give 512 TMC FT to AP and Restricting Telangana to Just 299 TMC FT. He Termed It and Historical Betrayal and Said It Had Permanently Harmed the prospects for irrigation of farmers Telangan.
He explained that the Congress Government was willing to fight at any level to protect the rights to water in Telangana. He said that the Government of Congress has launched an relentless struggle to ensure a fair share for telangan in the waters of Krishna and Godavari. He explained that if consultations and dialogue with the Indian government could not gain just allocations, the state would not hesitate to approach courts and carry out a legal battle.
He stressed that water allocation must be carried out with regard to the basin, Ayacut and the population in order to obtain Telangana’s legitimate demands. The Minister, who remembered past proposals, explained that during the congress regime in a combined AP, a pranahita-chevela was designed in Tummmadihatti with estimated costs of 38,000 crore in favor of Telangana.
However, BRS, lured by commission and corruption, scrapped this plan and built the Kaleshwaam project on the astronomical Crore 1 lakh, which has now failed and has become virtually unnecessary. He stated that if the PRANAHITA-CHEELLLA project continued its original location, the state would save 62,000 crore.
