The Andhra Pradesh government has mandated the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to start the second phase of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) in seven villages in Amaravati covering 16,666.57 acres as approved by the Cabinet.
This step follows the publication of the GO MS. No. 252 issued on Tuesday by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development.
The order refers to the Andhra Pradesh Region Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation and Implementation) Rules, 2025, under which the CRDA had earlier sought permission to implement land pooling over 20,494 acres.
The request, backed by a CRDA resolution, was placed before the Group of Ministers (GoM) set up to look into land allocation matters in the National Capital Region.
In its 21st meeting on 27 November 2025, the cabinet recommended authorizing the AP CRDA commissioner to continue the scheme, noting the availability of 16,562.56 acres of patta land, 104.01 acres of allotted land and 3,828.30 acres of government land.
After reviewing the proposal, the government gave approval to the CRDA Commissioner to initiate the process of land pooling in the said seven municipalities under Section 55(2) of the APCRDA Act.
The announced scheme is expected to facilitate urban infrastructure and planned development in the capital region and boost the state’s ongoing efforts to accelerate Amaravati’s growth trajectory.
The seven villages notified by LPS 2.0 are Vykuntapuram, Pedamadduru, Endroy and Karlapudi Lemalle in Amaravathi mandal of Palnadu district and Vaddamanu, Harichandrapuram and Pedaparimi in Thullur mandal of Guntur district.
