The state government decided to use the flood water of the Munner River, which otherwise flows into the sea every year into the sea by accepting the channel of the connection to divert it to Palair Reserve with 162.54 crore.
The Minister for Income and Housing Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy thanked the chief Minister A. Revant Reddy and the Minister of irrigation N. Uttam Kumar Reddy for cleaning the Munner-Palair channel to take Munner’s water to Palair Reservoir with the gravity channel. The government recently issued orders sanctioning work, he said on Sunday.
The use of Munner water would stabilize 2.54 lakh acres Ayacut under the Palair reservoir, including 1.3 lakh acres in the Palair constituency itself. Water could be used for drinking needs in parts of Suryapet, Mahabubabad and Khammam District AK filling 10 small irrigation tanks in Dornakal Constituration.
Meanwhile, when visiting the Suryapet district, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy examined the work of the Bette Thand Lift irrigation scheme on Sunday and said that the work would be completed by the end of August to irrigate 2,041 Bette Thanda, PAD Thand, Sajjapuram and several other villages and expenditures at 33.83.
On this occasion, Mr. Reddy said that the Bette Thanda elevator system was taken for the use of water Musi. He ordered officials to complete the works on the war character, because the acquisition of land has already been completed by compensation.
Later he explored the works of the Janpahad Lift irrigation scheme, which participated in the 270 GBP Crore in the Palakeed Mandal from Huzurnagar. The scheme would benefit Palakeed, Janpahada, Bothalapal, Komatikunta, Gundeboyin, Gudem, Alingapuram, Meghanapahd Thanda, Cheruvu Thanda, Raghavapuram, Sajjapuram, Nagered Hanumanth Gud and other villages.
