
The central government urged the states and territories to intensify preventive measures against malaria and dengue, while the review was planned specifically for Delhi and the region of the capital.
The Minister of Health of the Union JP Nadda in counseling also recommended state health ministers to review the situation and prepare action plans within 20 days. Urban corporations, Panchayats and local authorities were instructed to enhance units of community awareness.
Hospitals, including those under the central government, were ordered to ensure that they had adequate drugs, diagnostics, beds and premises without mosquitoes.
During the meeting on malaria and Dengue on 10 September, Nadda stressed that the country in the fight against malaria significantly advanced, thus reduced cases by 78% and death by almost 78% between 2015 and 2024.
Between 2022 and 2024 160 districts did not report a single case of malaria, while in 33 countries and trade unions, according to the Ministry of Health, there were less than one less than one in trade unions.
India’s efforts to remove malaria by 2030 include a national strategic plan to remove malaria (2023-27); Integrated platform for health management (IPH) for real -time monitoring; Improved ASHA incentives for community workers; and extensive division of long -term insecticidal networks (LLins). The government also recognizes districts that achieve the status of “zero malaria”.
During the review, Nadda also evaluated the current state of Dengue and noted that all states and trade unions (except Ladakhu) are endemic for both Dengue and Chikungunya with the highest risk of focus during monsoon and post-meons.
To do this, the National DEGUE control strategy focuses on the supervision, administration of cases, control of the vector, and the awareness of the community that more than 5,520 dengue and 2,530 Chikungunya diagnostic trains were delivered to the states.
The government also strengthened its diagnostic capacity using 869 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals and 27 laboratories for recommendations that offer free test services.
