Minister of Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy said that the state government plans to allow more private institutions to establish agricultural universities due to growing demand for courses in agricultural sciences.
On Friday in Dharwad in Dharwad he inaugurated the 39th day of the foundation.
Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy said that only 5,000 seats were available at four agricultural states of the state, more than one lake application for BSC courses was received every year.
The Minister mentioned that the government has already allowed three private institutions in the last two years to start studying and postgraduate programs in farmer’s sciences.
The Minister said that the regions of the Bombai-Karnataka and Kalyana-Karnataka have seen excessive precipitation, which led to extensive losses and the extent of damage increased to 12 lakh hectares. He said that under the NDR standards, farmers were entitled to a compensation of 8,500 GBP per hectare.
“The state government will correspond to this amount and will provide another 8,500 GBP per hectare, which will start the total compensation to £ 17,000 per hectare. The payment of compensation will begin soon,” he said.
Referring to the acute lack of agricultural work, Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy said that the government offers subsidies for machine harvesting to help farmers. So far, 400 farmers have benefited from this system and this year another 1,000 applications would be processed.
The Minister said Uas-Dharwad, currently on 24th place at national level, did a great job by developing a total of 1,139 technologies, 267 improved crops, 241 production technologies and 331 crop protection techniques. He called for a coordinated effort of students and members of the faculty to take it on the list of 10 best farmer sciences in the country.
Prof. Plus Patil, Chairman of the University, recalled the contribution of the first five vice -chairmen of the university Chancellor who sought to develop the university and took it to the national level.
On this occasion, various awards were awarded, such as the best teacher, the best scientist, the best scientist, the best young scientist, the best service staff, the best departed student from each stage under UAS, Dharwad and Best Managed Research Station. Scientists who brought externally financed projects have been awarded money prices.
Research Director, BD Biradar welcomed the assembly. Members of the University of the University, Parvathi S. Kurle, Veeranagouda P. Police, Basavaraj Kundagolmath, Ravikumar Maliger, Malates Shyagoti and Jayashree Shintri registrar were present. The event was attended by former vice -chairman, Deans, members of the faculty and retirement students.
