UN boss asks India, then to retreat from the brink
On Monday, UN Secretary General António Guterres expressed concern about the tension between India and Pakistan on “their highest in years” and called for “maximum restrictions and leaving the continuation”.
“Don’t make a mistake: A military solution is not a solution,” Guterres said in a short statement.
Guterres offered his “good offices” to both governments on the service of peace. “The United Nations is ready to promote any initiative that promotes de-schooling, diplomacy and a renewed commitment to peace,” he said.
