The Government of Andhra Pradesh has floated tenders for the implementation of the Sanjeevani scheme, an integrated digital care coordination and healthcare delivery system aimed at improving healthcare delivery.

The Ministry of Health, Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday that the government has issued a Request for Participation (RfP) outlining the terms and conditions for developing, designing and maintaining a digital platform to implement the scheme for a period of five years. The RfP was approved by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav after discussions with officials.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 27. The next meeting for inquiries will be held on July 31. The deadline for submitting bids is August 14. After evaluating the technical and financial aspects of the bids, the final decision will be taken on September 7.

Companies from the country that have previous experience in running digital health systems are eligible to participate. The government will also consider those who have three years of experience in implementing state and central healthcare systems.

In his statement, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said that the Sanjeevani programme, which was piloted in Kuppam the previous year, was conceived to address the shortcomings in the implementation of several state and union government health schemes.

Under this scheme, citizens’ digital health records would be maintained and the platform would play a key role by constantly updating individuals’ health information, analyzing medical history to identify potential health risks, alerting citizens in advance of potential health issues, among others.

The 12 main areas of health care under this scheme are as follows: maternal and newborn health, child health, reproductive health, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, mental health, dental care, eye and ENT care, trauma care, palliative care, geriatric (elderly) health care, diagnostic services and free distribution of medicines.

The platform will collect the generated data related to the individual under these health programs to provide appropriate guidance and advice to the public.
